Contemplative Yoga

This class is free and no prior experience is required.

“Nor do people light a lamp and put it under a basket.  Instead they put it on a lampstand, and it gives light to everyone in the house.”  Matthew 5:15

This 7-week series offers an opportunity to reflect on our gifts, our “light” and to work with one attitude or behavior that acts as a basket, obstructing the goodness in our hearts from benefitting anyone, even ourselves.  Through brief readings, journaling, mindful movement, and Centering Prayer we’ll attempt to see both our “light” and “basket” more and more clearly, and renew together our inspiration to bring that light forward.

This gentle yoga series is open to all in generally good health and no prior experience is required. You’ll need to bring a yoga mat, two yoga blocks, a blanket, a journal and something to write with.  If you have any questions, please contact the instructor, Kate Tremblay, by email at katetremblay15@gmail.com or by text or voice at 205-616-1134.

Kate Tremblay is a member of Saint Stephen’s and is a Yoga Alliance Registered Yoga instructor and has been teaching yoga in Birmingham since 1998.  She currently teaches at Conscious Body Healing Arts.
