YWCA Central Alabama is seeking volunteers to help answer the 24-Hour Crisis Hotline between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Shifts are in 3-4 hour increments weekly or every other week. Crisis Hotline volunteers help link domestic violence victims to life-saving information about shelter, legal assistance and other community resources. They offer crisis intervention, assist callers with safety planning and provide support. Volunteers must be at least 19, have strong communication skills and be open-minded. Training will be provided. For more information, contact Rae Richardson email@example.com or 205.521.9646, ext. 408.
We will be serving lunches to children at Caregiving Kids Academy June 26 – 30 as a part of Greater Birmingham Ministries “Thank Goodness I’m Fed” Summer Food Service Program for Youth. We will be preparing approximately 50 lunches per day and serving them on-site so need plenty of helping hands! Contact Zach Peagler, 205 902-4080 / firstname.lastname@example.org for further info.
