Saint Stephen’s Exploring Partnership with Heritage Hills Farmstead

In February of 2020, Saint Stephen’s launched a program through Snowsbend Farm in Tuscaloosa to provide not only our parishioners, but people who live in the neighborhood access to their subscription CSA program.  People subscribe for a share of Snowsbend farm and weekly, Snowsbend drops produce boxes off (and sometimes fresh flowers for those who order) and our community gains easy access to healthy produce.  It’s a holistic approach the food that connects our community with locally sourced and responsibly grown agriculture and helps support the small farmer, a treasure in our community.  You can read more about this partnership here.

Now, we are considering a similar partnership with Heritage Hills Farmstead, located in Cullman, Alabama. Heritage Hills Farmstead is known for responsibly raising protein and is a model for regenerative farming, a process that improves soil quality and models our ethic for Care of Creation.  In this proposal that we are exploring, having both an annual (stock the freezer) and weekly drop off at Saint Stephen’s where people in our community could purchase beef, pork, and chicken and pick it up at the church.

If you are interested, please complete this form. This is not an obligation to buy but does allow us to access the feasibility of this undertaking.  We are hopeful that this is a faithful way to care of God’s creation and our own health and wellbeing.
