Nursery

Our nursery provides a safe, fun and nurturing Christian environment for the young children of parishoners, visitors and the Birmingham community during the time that parents attend worship or other parish ministries or programs. Our goal is that the children will experience Christ through the nursery ministry.

Jesus loved children. He said,
“Let the little children come to me. Don’t stop them, because the kingdom of God belongs to people who are like these children.” - Mark 10:13-16

Saint Stephen’s Nursery is available for children ages six weeks to four years old. We are available from 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM Sunday and from 5:30 PM - 7:30 PM Wednesday (September – May). Childcare may be scheduled for other parish events with prior arrangements.

Middle School & High School

Fifth and sixth graders will revisit the Bible's greatest stories, investigate major biblical themes and discover how the Bible relates to their own lives. This class uses a Bible-centered curriculum developed especially for this age group to get to know God and each other better.

The Saint Stephen's Junior High Youth Ministries is for 7th - 8th grade youth, and is a part of our Rite 13 Sunday school program. We enjoy learning about ourselves, our peers, and our God, diving into group activities, and planning our own outreach event.

Our Senior High Program is for all 9th-12th graders, and we've got young people from over 10 different schools in Birmingham. We will cover some of the core identity questions of the Episcopal faith - What is the church?  Who is Jesus?  What does it mean to be "People of the Book"?

Find out more by visiting the Youth page.
