Anyone else ready for another Holy Hike? Join us on the trail on Saturday, Sept. 7 at 9:00 a.m. for a Jemison Park Holy Hike led by Gary Pekmezi. Check out the hike details below.
Gary and his wife, Dori, attend St. Stephen's Episcopal Church with their three boys. The Jemison Trail is probably his favorite place to hike in town. The Pekmezi boys enjoy hiking so they can compete for who can bring the nicest flower to their mama. The Pekmezi adults tend to like hiking because it helps exhaust the limitless energy of their boys.
Don't forget this is our penultimate hike. The last Holy Hike of the season will be in October when we go back to Oak Mtn. See you on Sept. 7 at Jemison Park!
Hike details:
We will meet in the back of Jemison Park, over by the water. There should be enough parking along Mountain Brook Pkwy for everyone who wants to join. However, not everyone may be able to park right at Jemison Park so they may have a 2-5 minute walk to the meeting spot.
This will be our most “urban” hike yet. From our meeting spot to the end of the nature trail and back is approximately 2.7 miles. The first half mile until we cross Overbrook Rd, is alongside Mountain Brook Pkwy so we'll keep young kids close to adults.
The hike will probably take just under 2 hours, most lunch spots open around 11. Join us for pizza afterwards at Davenport in Mountain Brook Village.
