Return to Outdoor Worship (March 7) and Change in Sunday Schedule

Dear Saint Stephen’s,

I am excited to share that after consulting with our COVID-19 Task Force and our vestry, we will return to outdoor worship on Sunday, March 7. Our Task Force believes that as long as we are socially distant and still wearing masks, we can gather in a responsible way. To best do this, we are going to shift our Sunday morning schedule. Here is the schedule we have adopted.

  • 8:00 a.m. – Morning Prayer with preaching in the Outdoor Chapel

  • 9:00 a.m. – Morning Prayer via livestream (YouTube, Facebook, and Vimeo)

  • 10:15 a.m. – Sunday Forum (Zoom Webinar and YouTube) and Bible Buzz (Zoom)

  • 11:15 a.m. – Holy Eucharist Rite II in the Back Parking Lot

  • 11:15 a.m. – Children’s Chapel (age 4 through 4th grade) - weekly registration required (children  will leave from the service and meet on the back patio behind the Parish Hall)

The 9:00 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. opportunities are livestreamed only. At this time, the 8:00 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. worship services will not require registration unless your child would like to go to children’s chapel. A registration link will be on the website, Children’s Ministry Facebook group, and in the weekly e-news.

The 11:15 a.m. service will take place in the back parking lot behind the Parish Hall. You are invited to bring a camp chair or purchase your very own Saint Stephen’s camp chair for $25 by clicking on this link. Recognizing that we are making a shift in our worship service schedule, there will be new opportunities to serve as readers and ushers. If you are interested in serving please click this link.

You might be wondering about our 5 p.m. Celtic contemplative service. The current plan is to resume that service in the Nave, hopefully in a few weeks as long as the positivity rates for COVID-19 continue to decline, the percentage of people vaccinated grows, and it is reasonable to gather inside again.

We are hopeful for this next iteration in the life of our community and look forward to seeing many of you soon.

Faithfully,

John+
