An Update from the Apiary
With warmer weather these past few days, resident beekeepers Scott Cochran and Tom Robertshaw took a dive into the Saint Stephen’s Apiary. They were pleased to find three very excited and healthy communities, one in need of more room to expand and bees out bringing in lots of pollen. Scott and Tom anticipate a great honey flow and growth in the apiary this year. They plan to expand the apiary to four hives soon. Be prepared for some tasty treats this fall (and hopefully some brighter and healthier gardens).
Saint Stephen’s is committed to recognizing the sacredness of all of creation. Our care and nurture of the environment is a critical way we live out our faith in Jesus Christ. In addition to the apiary, Saint Stephen’s has an ambitious program to remove invasive species from the grounds, a partnership with a local farm, a plan to reduce and offset carbon consumption and energy costs, monthly Holy Hikes, and formation opportunities around Care of Creation.
