Walk the Labyrinth in a Special Liturgy on Ash Wednesday
In 2023, Saint Stephen’s is introducing a new element to our observance of Ash Wednesday. Preceding our midday and evening Ash Wednesday services, we will offer A Liturgy of the Labyrinth in the Parish Hall at 11:30 a.m. and at 5:30 p.m.
This liturgy, designed by our parishioner Rob Elsner, is meant to create a space for those seeking additional time for contemplation as we begin this solemn season of Lent. We hope that experiencing this indoor iteration of our labyrinth liturgy will remind you of—or introduce you to—the spiritual treasure of this centuries-old meditative practice.
Those participating in the labyrinth liturgy will finish in time to transition to the Nave for our Ash Wednesday services with Holy Eucharist and Imposition of Ashes at 12:15 and 6:30 p.m.
The labyrinth will remain in the Parish Hall for people to walk during our normal open hours on Thursday, February 23 (9-4) and Friday, February 24 (9-12).
